Calculus-based AP Physics C: Mechanics TutorOnline worldwide · Barcelona
A semester of introductory calculus-based college mechanics, examined in three hours. We cover all seven units, close the calculus gaps that quietly cost marks, and rehearse the four free-response types by name.
Learn from experienced expert tutors who actually raise scores.
The biggest difference between a good score and a great one is who teaches you. Our tutors bring decades of experience and the kind of one-to-one attention a tutoring platform simply cannot match.
Seasoned subject experts
You are taught by experienced specialists with deep subject and exam knowledge, never a rotating roster of part-time college students.
Exam-focused teaching
Every topic is taught the way it is examined: mark schemes, command words, calculator strategy, and past-paper technique from day one.
Genuine personal attention
1-on-1 and small groups only. Every lesson is built around you and your target score, not a packed classroom pace.

How We Build a 5
Calculus first, where it is weak
Most Physics C marks are lost to the mathematics, not the physics. We test the derivative and integral fluency the course assumes and repair it before the content moves on.
Diagram before algebra
Free-body and force diagrams drawn properly make the algebra fall out. We make that the habit rather than an optional first step.
The four question types by name
Each free-response type is marked differently. We practise them separately so you recognise which one you are reading and what it wants.
Full three-hour papers
Pacing is only real under the full length. We run complete timed papers and debrief where the time actually went.
What You'll Learn
Kinematics
Motion in one and two dimensions, with derivatives and integrals used to move between position, velocity and acceleration rather than memorised formulae.
Force and Translational Dynamics
Newton's laws, free-body diagrams, friction, drag and systems of connected bodies. Where most lost marks begin, because the diagram is rushed.
Work, Energy, and Power
Work as an integral of force, conservative forces and potential energy functions, energy diagrams, and power.
Linear Momentum
Impulse, conservation of momentum, elastic and inelastic collisions, centre of mass and its motion.
Torque and Rotational Dynamics
Torque, moment of inertia by integration, rotational analogues of Newton's laws, and rolling without slipping.
Energy and Momentum of Rotating Systems
Rotational kinetic energy, angular momentum and its conservation, and gravitation including orbits and Kepler's laws.
Oscillations
Simple harmonic motion from the differential equation up, springs and pendulums, and energy in an oscillator.
The AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam
Three hours, split evenly between multiple-choice and free-response. Calculators are permitted throughout, and the exam is hybrid digital: multiple-choice in Bluebook, free-response handwritten in a paper booklet.
Section I: Multiple Choice
42 questions · 1 hour 25 minutes · 50% of the score
- Discrete questions and sets built on a shared stimulus or data.
- Calculus appears directly, so reading a gradient or an area is often faster than computing.
- Pace is roughly two minutes a question, which only holds if the standard setups are automatic.
Section II: Free Response
4 questions · 1 hour 35 minutes · 50% of the score
- Four fixed types: mathematical routines, translation between representations, experimental design and analysis, and qualitative or quantitative translation.
- Marks sit in the setup and the justification: limits of integration, signs, and what the result physically means.
- Answers are handwritten, so legible, ordered working is worth real marks.
Exam format verified against the College Board course page. The 2024-25 redesign replaced the older 35 question and 3 free-response structure, so older practice material has the wrong shape.
Real teaching. Real results.
“Bernat now feels confident with Math and Physics. He feels prepared for university. Suneel's help has been the key to Bernat's confidence and understanding.”
“Suneel transformed my son's relationship with Maths completely. From dreading every lesson to genuinely enjoying problem-solving, in just a few months. Incredible patience and expertise.”
